Telecaster Pickups
Telecaster Pickups
What is the best jazz guitar, Telecaster or Stratocaster?
I'm starting in the fall jazz program and was wondering which guitar would better for me to buy. I have three options. A Mexican stratocaster used with Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials pickups, a principle that comes with the choice Seymour Duncan Alnico Pick Ups or vans III, a Telecaster with Alnico III pickups. I'd rather get a stratocaster, as is the guitar I always wanted, but I'm not sure whether he could play jazz.
Telecaster, hands down. The guy above is correct, but neither are the best jazz axes. The telecaster has a classic warm tone that a lot of old blues musicians really loved. They are more expensive, but you should look for in a Fender Jaguar or Mustang if you can, as they are designed with jazz in mind. If you want a true jazz guitar, semi Hollow Body or hollow Body Electric is the pinnacle. Ibanez makes a cheap place Semi Hollow. But I digress, as much as jazz, get a telecaster. As you said you liked Stratocaster, however, it is silly to buy a guitar that does not like a type of music.
