Gibson Black

Gibson Black
Did you know that the 1958 Gibson Les Paul offers black?

I'm hunting for a good guitar, and someone has offered a "Special black 1958". I have not seen yet. I looked on the net, but I've only really found sunshine and yellow T V variations .. Were these facts, if so, how much are they worth it? Thanks Jack

Very unlikely that this is a special original -58. Never became black as far as I know (never heard of one). If this proves to be an original (which I doubt), then it is a Custom Color and the price was ridiculously high (as in tens of thousands of dollars). - I assume which is an instrument or painted on all this ruin the guitar and often does because of some structural (non-professional) guitar repair - or is not a Gibson at all. Are you sure there's an Epiphone? They have some offers black, I think ... If I were you, I would be very, very skeptical. If they say it is an original and want premium money for it, should pictures, etc. and serial numbers are checked with places like Gruhn guitars in Nashville. If they try to pass it in a cheap than the original, will have to ask yourself this simple question Why? There are a lot of scammers out there, so be careful ... Unless it is revised thoroughly by someone who can look for repairs, etc.

When God Was a Black Woman: And Why She Isn't Now When God Was a Black Woman: And Why She Isn't Now
List Price: $8.99

A few years ago I read a book by Merlin Stone called When God Was a Woman, in which she wrote that “in the beginning, people prayed to the Creatress of Life, the Mistress of Heaven. At the very dawn of religion, God was a woman…the female deity in the Near and Middle East was revered as Goddess—much as people today think of God…the original status of the Goddess was as supreme deity…the Great Goddess was regarded as immortal, changeless, omnipotent; and the concept of fatherhood had not yet been introduced into religious thought...

John Henrik Clarke asked “why do we pull so little on the greatness that we have been in order to understand the greatness we still have to be?” I believe the answer lies in popular promotion, which means that we pull so little on that greatness primarily because we have been allowed or even encouraged to know so little about it, especially in the area of Black-on-White revolutionary violence...

Have They Decided to Kill Us Yet: Global Black Labor Obsolescence and Manufactured Black Genocide Have They Decided to Kill Us Yet: Global Black Labor Obsolescence and Manufactured Black Genocide
List Price: $8.99

For years a growing number of Black people in America and Africa have alleged that the “White” (federal/colonial) government created HIV/AIDS to exterminate Black people. It is arguable that the only reason why all Black people don’t accept this alleged crime as fact is because the allegation is missing a key element—a motive...

A Lesson Before Leaving: The Psychohistorical Impact of Enslavement, White Supremacy, and Learned Helplessness on Black Fatherhood in America A Lesson Before Leaving: The Psychohistorical Impact of Enslavement, White Supremacy, and Learned Helplessness on Black Fatherhood in America
List Price: $8.99

This book began in search of a sophisticated solution for a superficially simple question: What would make me not abandon my son the same way my father had abandoned me? In hope of finding the answer, I began by rewording the question: What psychohistorical forces made my father and so many other Black fathers abandon their children? I ultimately realized the answer: Learned helplessness regarding both Black manhood and fatherhood deliberately taught to the Black man since enslavement via the historically oppressive reality of White supremacy...

Why Black Men Don't Teach: Understanding the Existing African-American Male Teacher Shortage Why Black Men Don't Teach: Understanding the Existing African-American Male Teacher Shortage
List Price: $8.99

According to Robert L. Smith, “the achievement gap separating black boys from just about everyone else springs from a powerful, anti-education culture rising in the black community. Parents who undervalue education, and a mass media that peppers youth with the quick, shallow rewards of hip-hop lifestyle, are steering alarming numbers of boys down a dead-end path...

Sixty years ago, when Truman Gibson reported for duty at the War Department, Washington, D.C. was a southern city in its unbending segregation as well as in its steamy summers. Gibson had no illusions, but as someone who'd enjoyed the best of the vibrant black culture of prewar America, he was shocked to find the worst of the Jim Crow South in the nation's capital...
