Who is the best classical trumpet player?

As a task for the band, I'm supposed to do a short report on which I think is the best classical trumpeter. Any ideas?

Rafael Mendez, Phillip Smith (mainstream New York Philharmonic), Adolph Herseth ( "Bud" Chicago Symphony principal 1955-2000 (1?)). Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis is a classic great as well.
