piezoelectric buzzer will be a work or has to be a transducer
a transducer. A bell is something completely different. I imagine they have spent a total of something like 0-10 dollars to make a homemade guitar, and now you're looking at trucks and realize that they are as a piezoelectric 50-80 decent pickup. which is a bummer for sure. But are out there something cheaper if you look at them, but most likely hear the difference. my kind of sounds like economic piezoelectric * ss. The other thing you can do is find a decent microphone and make a selection scematic under the micro-bridge up. shack radio microphone elements are somewhat reasonable, but the sound isn't going to be as even string to string as would be attatched to a Piezo Bridge. good luck. feel free to email me with any questions.
