In preparation for guitar lessons?
I am a long term fan of the guitar and piano and finally were able to join guitar lessons at school. My friend has offered to help me with the guitar. I will not waste time on the basics but also do not want to learn the basics wrong. I've never held a guitar and I'm not sure if the teacher teaches new notes or tabs. I understand how to read notes and gives me the idea behind here, but also that, I completely dark.Any tips or suggestions are most welcome! Thank you!
Your thinking too much. First, you have knowledge of the notation standard music and Music Theory!, is well ahead of 95% of people who "play" the guitar. Do not worry! Second, card is only a visual representation of the strings on the guitar (E / low the fattest hung on the bottom). Is read from left to right, the numbers only tell you where press that string when, in what order. No duration is specified, it is only a road map that people practice to learn to play their favorite songs. No music theory in question. Again, NO worries, you still way ahead. No more thinking. You know much more than others people who are starting. Just enjoy it. The hardest part is getting your fingers used to press the strings. Do not worry, you'll discover the simple things faster than others and understand the most complex things in a way that will make others sick. The rock world is full of tricks anyway. Chords energy and do drop tunings of the guitar so stupid easy that anyone 5 years of age might be a superstar. So many people use they do not understand the theory and how it works. Who cares, it still looks and sounds wicked awesome!> Sarcasm <Rock on!
