Why the electoral system cause some states to be ignored, while others have great attention to?
Why is the system electoral cause some States which ignored while others have a lot of attention paid to them?
Though McCain lost only relatively small margin of popular votes (46%, compared to Obama 53%), which was defeated in the Electoral College (365 to 173, which Obama won 68% of the EC, McCain 32%): If you live in New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, OR, HI, ME, VT, or RI, and voted for McCain, his vote is essentially irrelevant, because these states are so heavily loaded with Democrats. * All * the state's electoral votes went to Obama. Similarly, if you live in OK, NE, AL, ID, WY, and UT, and voted for Obama, your vote does not count because those states are so heavily loaded with Republicans. * All * the electoral votes of those states went to McCain. I would think that Republicans hate this system. Obama only needs 16 states to be elected: NY, CA, IL, NJ, MA, PA, MI, WA, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, MN, WI, CO, and NV If you think that the current Electoral College system is unfair and outdated, write your U.S. Representative and senators and ask them to begin the process of its Abolition (http://www.congress.org go and enter your zip if you do not know who they are).
